Kozhikode: The Manorama Online-Malabar Gold and Diamonds Chuttuvattam Award for the best Residents' Association in the state will be presented here on Saturday (July 26).

The event, to be held at the Taj Gateway Hotel in Kozhikode at 5:30 pm, will be attended by former Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai, Kozhikode MP MK Raghavan, Malabar Gold and Diamonds Chairman MP Ahmed, Kerala Ranji captain and Chuttuvattam Award brand ambassador Sachin Baby, and Malayalam film director Basil Joseph, among others.

Registered residents' associations and apartment complexes in Kerala participated in the competition, with 12 of them becoming the finalists. The first-prize-winning Association will receive ₹1 lakh, a certificate, and a trophy. The second- and third-place winners will receive ₹75,000 and ₹50,000, respectively. Special awards will also be given to Associations that have performed excellently well in each category.

The 12 finalists are:  Poojappura Unninagar Residents Association, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram; Kadayil Mudumbu Residents Association, Vattiyoorkavu, Thiruvananthapuram; Janatha Residents Association, Chellamangalam, Thiruvananthapuram; Goureeshapattom Residents Association, Goureeshapattom, Thiruvananthapuram; Sky Line Grace Apartment Owners Association, Pala, Kottayam; Perikoni Residents Association, Thodupuzha, Idukki; Sky Line Ivy League Apartment Owners Association, Kakkanad, Ernakulam; Sahakarana Residents Association, Ponnurunni, Ernakulam; Hello Residents Association, Ottappalam, Palakkad; Surya Nagar Residents Association, Dhoni, Palakkad; Pournami Residents Association, West Hill, Kozhikode; and Snehasangamam Residents Association, Azhikode, Kannur.

The activities of the Associations were evaluated by a panel chaired by Dr Binoy T Thomas, a professor and researcher at Pathanamthitta Catholicos College. The panel's members included Dr Ajayakumar Varma, former director of Kerala Suchitwa Mission; Mathew John, former joint commissioner of Excise and Chemist Dr MG Vinod Kumar.
