Palakkad: A 24-year-old woman was found hanging at her husband’s residence on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Neha, wife of Pradeep from Kallingal House, Thonipadam in Palakkad's Alathur. 

Her in-laws were at the house when the incident happened. No suicide note was found on the scene. Neha, her husband, and their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Alaina had reportedly gone to sleep together at 10 pm. 

Following a complaint filed by her relatives, her husband was questioned by the police. They alleged that Pradeep subjected her to physical and mental abuse. An argument broke out between the couple on Wednesday night, and Neha called her mother, asking her to come and take her home. 

However, she said that they would come in the morning as her father was unwell. But a couple of hours later, Neha's in-laws called her, saying that she had collapsed and was taken to the hospital around 12:30 am. Hospital authorities noticed marks on her neck and, suspecting foul play, informed the police.
