Kochi: Malayalam actor Vinayakan has landed in yet another controversy, this time over a poem he shared on Facebook about the death of CPM leader and former Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan.
The actor shared his poem on social media that refers to the death of several political leaders, including Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi, K Karunakaran and V S Achuthanandan. It also refers to MP Hibi Eden’s father and late Congress leader Oommen Chandy. However, the tone of the poem has drawn sharp criticism for being flippant and disrespectful.
Youth Congress Ernakulam district president Sijo Joseph filed a formal complaint with the state police chief, alleging that the poem insults the late leader and hurts public sentiment. He also demanded immediate action against the actor, stating that such repeated behaviour from Vinayakan cannot be tolerated.
The actor has previously faced backlash over his controversial remarks and social media posts, many of which have sparked heated debates on political and public issues. Notably, a video of Vinayakan raising slogans during Achuthanandan’s funeral has also been doing the rounds.
