Kunnamkulam: The timely intervention of the police saved the life of a 12-year-old boy, who fell unconscious after he locked himself in a room. He had fought with his family for refusing him a mobile phone.

The police broke door to rescue the boy and rushed him to the nearby hospital in a police vehicle. The incident happened at Puthussery at around 1 pm on July 25.

The family panicked when the boy didn’t open the door despite knocking for a long time. The boy’s mother swiftly contacted the police helpline. The Kunnamkulam police were alerted, and the police personnel led by sub-inspector Hariharasunu rushed to the boy’s house.

The police broke open the door when the boy didn’t respond. They found the boy lying unconscious under the cot. The policemen applied CPR to the boy on the way to Kanipayyoor Unity Hospital. The boy who is admitted to the hospital is recovering.
