Alappuzha/ Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rain in Kottayam and Pathanamthitta has led to increased water flow into the Alappuzha district, resulting in widespread waterlogging across schools and public roads in Kuttanad Taluk. In response, the Alappuzha District Collector has declared a holiday on Monday for all educational institutions in the taluk, including professional colleges, anganwadis, and tuition centres. However, previously scheduled examinations will be held as planned.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), no rain alert has been issued for Alappuzha over the next five days. Meanwhile, Kottayam and Pathanamthitta remain under a yellow alert, indicating expected rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm.
