Kongad:Three individuals, including two women, were arrested with 53.90 grams of methamphetamine in their possession during a joint operation by the district anti-narcotics squad and Kongad police under 'Operation D-Hunt' near Poriyani in Mundoor.

The arrested were identified as K V Ancy (30) from Onchiyam in Kozhikode, Noora Hasni (23) from Malappuram and Muhammad Swalish (29), also from Malappuram. According to police, Ancy had brought the contraband from Bengaluru, while the other two had come to purchase it from her.

Ancy had previously been arrested by the Palakkad South Police last year for possession of MDMA. Despite being out on bail, she continued her involvement in drug trafficking. The vehicle used by the Malappuram duo was also seized by the police.

The arrests were made based on a tip-off received by Palakkad District Police Chief Ajith Kumar. The operation was led by Mannarkkad DYSP M Santosh Kumar, Palakkad Narcotics Cell DYSP Abdul Muneer and Kongad Inspector R Sujith Kumar. The team also included SI Vivek, ASIs E B Sajeesh and R Prashanth, CPOs C V Sheeba, C S Sajid, M Sunil, G Prasad and R Dhanya, V V Dhanya, and A Saifuddin.
