Thrissur: The quick-thinking bus staff members helped save a student who collapsed during his journey. The incident happened on Tuesday, around 9 am, on the Mishal bus travelling from Irinjalakuda to Mala.

Adithyan, a student of Snehagiri School, collapsed when the bus reached near Mala Church. He had boarded the bus from Ashtamichira.

Fellow passengers who saw him faint immediately alerted the conductor, M V Vipin. Though Vipin splashed water on the student's face, he remained unconscious. The bus driver, E N Vinod, then diverted the bus to the hospital.

Upon arriving at the Mala Gurudharma Mission Hospital, Adithyan was admitted to the emergency department. He was examined by Dr Nandu Ashok and physician Dr B Ajith Kumar. Doctors confirmed that the collapse was related to a seizure (fits).
