Kochi: The Cherai Beach Hotels and Resorts Development Forum (Cherai Tourism), a collective of beach-based tourism entrepreneurs, has launched 'Arya' Kerala’s first AI-powered tourism chatbot. Designed to enhance the tourist experience, Arya offers real-time information on beach guidelines, cultural events, and major attractions in Cherai. The chatbot was introduced during the annual general meeting of Cherai Tourism, which also saw the announcement of several other new tourism initiatives. These include:

  • Saho – A food tourism project named after social reformer Sahodaran Ayyappan
  • Cherai Ambassador Programme – To promote local heritage, values, and responsible tourism
  • Cherai Passport – A benefit initiative for both residents and tourists
  • Voice of Cherai – A magazine highlighting local stories, culture, and tourism trends
  • Cherai Green Mission – A sustainability drive to keep Cherai clean and green

In total, 15 new projects were unveiled, along with the launch of 30 tourism packages. An annual tourism award was also announced, starting next year, to recognise contributions to Cherai’s tourism sector. The event was attended by Muziris Heritage Project Managing Director Sharon, Kerala Travel Mart President Jose Pradeep, and Secretary Swaminathan. Twelve founding members of Cherai Tourism were felicitated on the occasion.
