Irinjalakkuda: Health Minister Veena George inaugurated the newly built dialysis centre at the Irinjalakkuda General Hospital, the renovated Outpatient (OP) block at the Porathissery Family Health Centre and a newly established sub-centre at Vellani near Karalam. Minister R Bindu presided over the function.

The dialysis centre at the General Hospital was constructed at a cost of ₹3.98 crore, with dialysis machines and ancillary equipment installed for ₹1.29 crore. The renovation of the OP block at the Porathissery Family Health Centre was completed at a cost of ₹15.5 lakh, while the new sub-centre at Vellani was established at ₹7 lakh.

Municipal Chairperson Marykutty Joy, Director of Health Services Dr K K Reena, District Medical Officer Dr T P Sreedevi, Arogya Keralam District Programme Manager Dr P Sajeev Kumar, Block Panchayat President Lalitha Balan, Karalam Panchayat President Bindu Pradeep, Municipal Standing Committee Presidents Ambika Pallippurathu, Feni Abin Vellanikkaran, C C Shibin, Jaison Parekkadan, District Panchayat President Sheela Jayaghosh, Ward Councillor PT George and General Hospital Superintendent Dr M G Sivadas were among those who spoke at the event.
