Piravom: Ammayude Peril Oru Maram (A Tree in Mother's Name), a project aimed at fostering environmental awareness among students and youngsters, has been launched at Ezhakkaranad Government UP School. The initiative is being implemented in association with the Mera Yuva Bharat District Unit and the Surya Club at Ezhakkaranad.

The project envisions planting and nurturing trees within the school premises. During school holidays, members of the Surya Club will take on the responsibility of caring for the saplings. The trees planted include rambutan, guava, mango, and jackfruit. To protect the saplings from animals, fencing has been installed around them.

Panchayat member Ranji Suresh inaugurated the project, and school headmaster Babu Kuriakose presided over the function. Mera Yuva Bharat district officer Vivek Sasidharan, PTA president Jose Mathew, and Surya Club office-bearers Pradeep T. Narayanan and Basil Biju also spoke on the occasion.
