Keralites stranded in Uttarkhand leave for Haridwar by bus, will return on Aug 14

The Kerala natives who were airlifted to Uttarkashi from Bhaironghati where they got stranded following the flashfloods in Uttarakhand left for Haridwar by bus on Saturday morning. Ramachandran Nair, one of the passengers, said that they will stay in Haridwar till August 13.
"We will leave for Delhi from Haridwar on August 13. From there, one group will take the train to Kerala, while eight of us will leave for Mumbai," said Nair. He said that inspite of unforeseen challenges, the group found safe lodging and transport facilities. Families of the stranded Keralites thanked the politicians and armed forces for the timely intervention.
The 28-member team left for Char Dham yatra on August 2. Following the massive landslide that swept away roads and a village, the team got stranded and were camped at Bhaironghati for two days. They were airlifted to Uttarkashi on Friday. The relatives were able to get in touch with some of the members who told them that they were safe.
