Vypin: The iconic protest led by the Munambam Bhoosamrakshana Samiti in the land dispute between the residents of the coastal area and the Waqf Board has crossed 300 days. The fast was inaugurated by KCBC deputy secretary Fr. Thomas Tharayil yesterday. Meanwhile, Fr. Benny Vazhakoottathil, the vicar of St. Antony’s Church, Chettikkad felicitated the protestors with shawls. Bhoosamrakshana Samiti patron Fr. Antony Xavier Tharayil, assistant vicars at Velankanni Matha church Fr. Antony Thomas Polakkat and Fr. Moncy Varghese Arakkal, Bhoosamrakshana Samiti chairman Joseph Rocky Palakkal, vice chairman Joseph Benny Kuruppassery and National Christian Movement for Justice district treasurer Bejoy Antu Srambikkal addressed the protestors. 

The valedictory function that was held in the evening to offer support to the protestors was inaugurated by ACTS state general secretary George Sebastian. Bhoosamrakshana Samiti chairman Joseph Rocky Palakkal presided over the valedictory meeting. Vicar General of the Mar Thoma Church Dr. CA Varghese, National Christian Movement for Justice district president Koshy George, vice president KA Rajan, Kerala Congress M state secretary Tomy K Thomas, district president Tomy Joseph, state steering committee member Joy Mulavarikkal, constituency president Josy P Thomas, Nationalist Congress state chairman Kuruvila Mathews, BJP state general secretary Shaun George, stat secretary Jiji Joseph, district president KS Shaiju, area vice president Shankarankutty, Kudumbi Seva Samajam state secretary PM Shucheendran, KRLCBC secretary Dr. Jiju Arakkathara and Bhoosamrakshana Samiti patron Fr. Antony Xavier Tharayil spoke at the event.
