Actor Vinayakan was questioned at the Cyber Crime Police Station, Kochi, on Monday over multiple petitions received against him. “The session lasted around 30 minutes, during which his statement was recorded”, Cyber Crime police told Onmanorama.

Vinayakan had recently made a series of controversial Facebook posts in which he used expletives against acclaimed filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan and singer K J Yesudas. He criticised Adoor for remarks made at a State government film conclave. He dragged Yesudas into controversy through an expletive-laden social media post.

The actor’s posts following the deaths of veteran communist leader V S Achuthanandan and Congress leader Oommen Chandy, too, had attracted widespread criticism. Vinayakan also targeted a female journalist with an abusive post on Friday.
