Idukki: A migrant worker from Rajasthan was rescued after falling into the Muthirapuzha River in Munnar on Tuesday. The incident happened near Old Munnar Moolakada, where employees of roadside shops spotted him being swept away by the strong current. They immediately alerted the Fire and Rescue Services and police.
The man managed to cling to a riverside shrub, but the powerful flow hampered rescue efforts. Fire and Rescue driver Rakesh swam towards him, yet the force of the water made the task risky. The team then deployed a DTPC boat to bring him ashore. He was later admitted to Munnar Tata High Range Hospital for treatment.
