Kasaragod: In another incident of school violence in the district, a Class X student of Government Higher Secondary School, Paravanadukkam, was allegedly assaulted by Class XI students on Wednesday.

Melparamba police have booked two Class XI students for rioting and assault, said Station House Officer, Inspector Santhosh Kumar A. "Four more students were involved in the attack," he said, adding that all the accused are minors.

According to police, the assault was allegedly in retaliation to the Class X boy's misbehaviour towards a Class IX student. The younger boy had complained to his brothers and cousins in Class XI, who then "ganged up and assaulted" him, the officer said.

The officer clarified that it was a revenge attack, not ragging. The seniors allegedly grabbed the boy by the collar and hit him on the face, chest, and neck, causing injuries.
