The Kerala government on Thursday appointed Dr Viswanathan K V as the new Director of the Department of Medical Education. His appointment follows the retirement of Dr Thomas Mathew on April 30.

After Dr Mathew's retirement, Dr Viswanathan had been serving as the director-in-charge of the department. He was also holding the position of Joint Director prior to this appointment.
