Edathua: A pack of stray dogs killed and ate the lambs owned by a cattle farmer in Edathua. The lambs, belonging to Veeyapuram native Noushad, were just a week old when they were attacked. There were three male lambs and two female lambs.
The lambs had been tied up in the cattle shed close to the house. Stray dogs entered the shed on a rainy night, attacking and killing them. The owner came to know about the incident only when he went to milk the goats the next morning.
Residents of the area have long raised concerns about the growing stray dog population. There have also been reports of hens and ducks reared at homes being attacked. Locals allege that no action has been taken by the authorities despite multiple complaints.
