Edathanattukara: The efforts and hard work of ten youngsters paid off as the construction of the Kappuparambu – Noonapadam- Chooriyodu road that easily connects Kappuparambu to Edathanattukara – Kottapalla is almost completed. Although many have tried to get the green flag for this dream project that would replace the centuries-old walkway, nothing had turned fruitful. The youngsters met the owners of the land on both sides of this path and convinced them to donate land for the road project.

Everyone was willing to donate land for the road and happily handed over the consent letters. Soon, the construction of the road that is four metres wide began at Kappuparambu. The youngsters and the local residents managed to raise funds for preparing the land using earth movers. The road passes through farmlands including rubber estates, areca nut farms and coconut orchards.

Chunkan Veerappu Haji, Cheriyadan Nani, Padinjarapalla Ummer, Padinjarapalla Yousef, Padinjarapalla Subair, Padinjarapalla Ali, Padinjarapalla Usman and KT Nani have donated land for constructing the road. Meanwhile, the youngsters and the people of the locality hope that the three-tier panchayats would grant aid for building two bridges in the area, including one across Kakkeni Lake.
