Thrikaripur: Parking by private vehicles inside the panchayat bus stand at Thrikaripur in Kasaragod district is continuing, despite numerous complaints to the authorities. The encroachment has created several problems in the bus stand, mainly the lack of space. 

Incidentally, a parking area has been allotted for private vehicles on the eastern side of the bus stand. However, many private vehicle owners choose to park on the bus stand premises.

Incidentally, private vehicles are encroaching on the bus stand even as the town lacks an authorised auto-rickshaw stand. Auto drivers pointed out that they could be allotted a space on any side of the bus stand. Thrikaripur needs additional auto stands considering the growing crowds and development, they added. 

Presently, auto-rickshaws are parked at nearly 10 spots in the town, including the bus stand and Vellappu Road Junction. Meanwhile, residents have also urged the panchayat authorities to provide more areas for parking by private vehicles in the town.
