Vilangad: Abhilash Scaria Tharapel who lost his house during the deadly landslides will be granted a brand new house by Meppayur Salafi College and other associate institutes. KNM state president Dr. Hussain Madavoor said that God favours people who are socially committed and help those who suffer pain and difficulties in life. He was speaking after laying the foundation stone of the house. The house will be constructed in a 11 cents land in Valamthode. Meanwhile, Abhilash works as an X ray technician at Kallachi VIMS hospital. 

The foundation stone was laid by Monsignor Abraham Vayalil, vicar general of the diocese of Thamarassery and Dr. Hussain Madavur. The Salafia Association is constructing the house by associating with the diocese of Thamarassery.  Rs 15 lakh has been estimated as the budget of the house whose construction is likely to be completed by December. Rs 3 lakh was handed over to Abhilash as a first instalment by Salafia Association secretary AV Abdulla. 

Meanwhile, vicar general Monsignor Abraham Vayalil and Fr. Bobby Poovathungal said that the diocese will build 67 houses and the construction of 57 houses has already started. Salafi Association president Dr. Hussain Madavur and secretary AV Abdulla expressed their willingness to build a house for a homeless family near the Meppayur college campus. 

The event was presided over by panchayat president P Surrayya. Vice president Selma Raju, ward member P Sharada, Vilangad church vicar Fr. Wilson Muttathukunnel, Fr. Bobby Poovathungal, college principal Fasalulla Anwari, college committee members PK Abdulla, AP Abdul Aziz, KNM district vice president TP Moidu Vadakara and Ajay Avala addressed the gathering.
