Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty on Wednesday clarified that there will be no change in the Onam vacation as per the academic calendar issued earlier by the Department of Public Education.

The vacation will begin on August 27 after the first-term examinations, and schools will reopen on September 8, the minister informed at a press conference.

He added that the government has not considered curtailing the Onam holidays, and there is no change in the current government policy regarding the vacation.
