Thiruvananthapuram: A youth was killed in a road accident on the National Highway 66 at Kazhakkottam here around midnight on Saturday. The deceased is Shibin (28), a native of Balaramapuram.

Two others, including a woman, were injured after the car in which they were travelling rammed into a pillar of the Elevated Highway near Technopark. According to police, the speeding vehicle lost control in a suspected road race.
Eyewitnesses told police that the car was travelling at high speed.

According to police, five people were in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The injured have been admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram.

The vehicle, owned by a native of Neyyattinkara, was completely damaged in the crash and has been taken to the police station for investigation.
