Thiruvananthapuram: Police have arranged extensive parking facilities across the city ahead of the Onam festivities. Commissioner Thomson Jose stated that vehicles can be parked at the University Office premises, University College ground, Sanskrit College ground, Kerala Water Authority premises, Music College ground, LMS ground, St Joseph’s School ground, Fort High School ground, Salvation Army School ground, Jimmy George Indoor Stadium, Attakulangara Central School, SMV School ground, Arts College ground, Attukal Temple ground, Iranimuttam Homoeo College ground, Public Office premises, Fine Arts College, Women’s College ground, and LBS Centre for Science and Technology.

Parking will not be allowed on the sides of the main roads in the city. Traffic restrictions will be enforced from Kanakakunnu to the Corporation Office depending on the crowd. All major spots in the city will be under CCTV surveillance. Meanwhile, a special control room will also be opened at Kanakakunnu. Decorative illuminations will be switched off at midnight.
