Ranni-Perunad: Fire and Rescue personnel turned saviours for a 19-year-old youth who was stranded atop a coconut tree. The youngster, identified as Aby of Puthenveettil, Vayaranmaruthi, was safely brought down by the Ranni Fire and Rescue team.
Aby had climbed a 35-foot-high coconut tree on a property in possession of the Vayaranmaruthi temple, but soon became exhausted and unable to descend. Responding to the call, fire and rescue personnel rushed to the spot. They scaled the tree using a ladder and then fixed an additional ladder to ensure a safe rescue.
The operation, led by Assistant Station Officer Sajeev, ended successfully with Aby being brought down unharmed.
