Thrissur: Youth Congress workers on Saturday marched to the house of a police officer accused of custodial torture at Kunnamkulam police station, alleging that no action had been taken against those involved. The case dates back two years, when Youth Congress leader V S Sujith was allegedly assaulted in custody.

The march was held to the residence of officer Shashidharan at Thrikkur, who was earlier posted at Kunnamkulam station and is currently serving at Thrissur East station. Police stopped the march by setting up barricades near his house.

Other accused officers, Nuhman, Sajeevan and Sandeep, are serving at various police stations under Thrissur City Police.

On Friday, Youth Congress workers had also taken out a march to the Thrissur Range DIG office, where they staged symbolic protests by whipping effigies of the officers and serving "kolachor"to mark their dissent.
