Pulppalli: A 16-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree in a farm near her house on Monday. The deceased is Kanishka, daughter of Kumaran of Kanishka Nivas, Meenamkolly. She was a Class 10 student at Padinjarethara.

Her parents had filed a complaint with the local police after she went missing from home around 8 pm on Sunday. A search was launched overnight, and her body was found by noon.

Pulppalli Inspector Biju Antony said there were no doubts regarding the death and no suicide note was found.

“The sudden provocation is unclear, the family is shocked,” he added.

Post-mortem examination was conducted at the Medical College Hospital, Mananthavadi. The body was handed over to the relatives for the last rites. Kanishka is survived by her parents, brother Amarnath, and sister Anishka.
