Kochi: Two men, who are fans of rapper Vedan Hirandas Murali, were arrested by Thrikkakara police in Ernakulam for creating nuisance in front of the station on Wednesday. The incident took place after Vedan was arrested by the police in a rape case registered against him.

The accused have been identified as Sarath (31) of Edachira and Faizal (30) of Athani. According to the police, both of them were under the influence of alcohol and demanded the police to release Vedan from custody. When the police tried to send them away, they sat in front of the station and reiterated their demand. Following this, the police forcefully removed them and recorded their arrest.

They have been booked under 118 a (being intoxicated and rioting) of Kerala Police Act. Later, both of them were released on bail.

Earlier on Wednesday, Vedan appeared before the police for the second day of interrogation in the rape case registered against him based on a complaint filed by a woman. Vedan has been directed by the High Court to present himself before Thrikkakara station house officer, who is the investigating officer in the case, on September 9 and 10 as part of his bail conditions.
