Oravakkal: Siblings Rayan and Aiden are yearning for their beloved parrot Kannan to return. Kannan, a Magna Double Yellow-headed Amazon, belonged to Rayan, a Class 5 student, and Aiden, who is in Class 1, from Ernakulam. The boys have been desperately trying to find their feathered friend that went missing a few days ago.
Rayan and Aiden had taken Kannan with them when they visited their father’s house in Oravakkal for Onam on September 4. The parrot flew away while its cage was being cleaned at noon on September 7 and has been missing since then.
At their home in Ernakulam, Kannan would often be let out of the cage to fly around the room. From singing songs to playing with the children’s toys, the parrot enjoyed the company of his young companions. “Kannan would even scold us if we did something mischievous,” Rayan said. The brothers have refused to return to Ernakulam until their beloved pet is found.
