Vadasserikkara: In an effort to prevent rabies infection, the Vadasserikkara panchayat authorities conducted a vaccination drive for 53 stray dogs, completing it in under four hours within the town limits.

A team led by Kundara native Libin Lawrence captured and vaccinated the stray dogs from 8 am onwards on Thursday. He was assisted by dog trainers Chandu Chandran from Veliyam and Vishnuraj from Nedumankavu.

The vaccinations were administered by Vadasserikkara veterinary surgeon Dr Biju Mathew and livestock inspectors Sharath and Mohanlal. The panchayat will continue its anti-rabies vaccination drive in other areas on Thursday and Friday.
