Kochi: Actress Rini Ann George, who recently spoke of an unpleasant experience involving a young Congress leader, has filed a complaint with the police alleging a cyberattack against her.

Rini, without naming the leader, had earlier shared her account on social media. She has since alleged that she became the target of defamatory campaigns online. It is learnt that she had emailed a complaint to the Chief Minister’s Office, the Ernakulam Rural district police chief, Munambam DySP, and the cyber police.

According to police sources, she has included names of people linked to online portals and activist groups, along with links to objectionable content, as proof in her complaint.

Sources said the Ernakulam Rural cyber police have initiated a preliminary probe based on her complaint, and an FIR will be filed after the allegations are assessed.
