Kavum Mandam: Vishnu and Preethu are battling a serious illness that has struck their lives at the height of their love, and now an entire community is coming together to support them. Their story has touched people who have experienced both the joys of love and the pain of heartbreak.

People are coming together to save Vishnu, whose kidneys have been severely damaged, with the hope of restoring his health and reuniting him fully with Preethu. The biggest hurdle they face is raising ₹20 lakh for his treatment. Undeterred, the community has launched the fundraising drive with full determination, asking themselves: if not this, what else could we do for Preethu?

Preethu and Vishnu met during her studies, and their friendship blossomed into love. But their life together was suddenly struck by a devastating diagnosis that both of Vishnu’s kidneys were damaged. Despite this, Preethu refused to leave him.

The solution she found was to marry him and care for him herself. Initially, her family opposed the idea of her marrying a patient, but Preethu was resolute. With no other choice, her family eventually gave their consent and she married Vishnu. For the past four years, Vishnu has been living under her care.

Recently, doctors informed the couple that a kidney transplant is the only option to restore Vishnu’s health. Although Vishnu’s mother, Bindu, was willing to donate her kidney, she was not a match. Following this, Vishnu’s father, Chandran, who also serves as a ward member of Thariyodu Panchayat, stepped forward to donate his kidney. However, the high cost of surgery and post-operative care has put the family in a difficult situation.

Taking note of this situation, the local community has taken up the cause. A Treatment Assistance Committee for Vishnu Chandran Madathuvayal has been formed to mobilize funds for his medical care. T Siddique MLA serves as the patron of the committee, with Panchayat President Shameem Parakkandi as chairman. The committee also includes Treasurer K V Unnikrishnan, a panchayat member, and Convenor M A Joseph.
