Kochi: A case has been registered against five individuals, including Rahul Easwar, and several YouTube channels for allegedly defaming Malayalam actor Rini Ann George on social media. The Ernakulam Rural Cyber Police took action following a complaint filed by Rini to the Chief Minister, highlighting offensive posts targeting her online.

The complaint included links to the online channels and YouTube accounts where the defamatory remarks were made. The case has been registered under Section 67 of the IT Act and relevant sections of the BNS.

The online harassment followed Rini’s disclosures, which pointed fingers at Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil. Although she did not name anyone directly in her posts, the disclosures triggered a severe cyber attack against her.
