Tiruvalla: The extremely underprivileged families of Thiruvalla Taluk will soon have land registered in their names, to be followed by the construction of houses and the provision of essential facilities.

The Revenue Department has already surveyed and earmarked half an acre of land for this purpose near the Pulikeezhu police station in Alumthuruthy, within the limits of Kadapra village.

Authorities have already identified 25 people in the taluk who fall under the extremely underprivileged category. Of these, 12 have already received land and houses through various government schemes.

A new scheme has now been launched to allot 3 cents of land, along with title deeds, to the remaining 13 beneficiaries and to build homes for them. These families belong to Kadapra, Niranom and Kaviyoor villages.
