Cherupuzha: Even while struggling to make both ends meet, C M Ali, a taxi driver from Cherupuzha Anganwadi Road, became an embodiment of honesty by returning a lost gold ornament to its owner. Ali had arrived at the Cherupuzha market at 11 AM yesterday to buy fish. It was then that he noticed a bangle lying in a puddle at the entrance to the market.

He then picked up the bangle, bought fish, and returned. On his way home, he stopped at Apsara Jewellery in Cherupuzha to confirm it was gold and had its weight noted down. Subsequently, Ali went to the Cherupuzha Police Station and handed over the bangle.

Meanwhile, the couple Jose and Pushpamma from Chakkalakkal, Prappoyil East, who owned the bangle, learned about the incident through social media. The couple arrived at the police station and informed them about the loss of their gold ornament.

Subsequently, the police, after inquiring about the ornament and confirming them as the rightful owners, called Ali. Then, at Ali's request, Cherupuzha Police Inspector M P Vineeshkumar handed over the bangle, weighing more than one sovereign, to its owners.
