Thrissur: A 30-year-old man recently arrested on charges of selling wild boar meat was found hanging at a private compound near his residence at Kanjirakode, Wadakkanchery, on Friday morning.

The deceased is identified as Midhun, an autorickshaw driver. He was taken into custody on Tuesday, along with two others, by a team led by the Wadakkanchery range forest officer. After being remanded, he was released on bail on Thursday. Family members said he was under severe mental stress since then.

Midhun, the sole breadwinner of his family, went missing on Friday morning. Relatives later found him dead, sparking protests from residents who initially refused to lower the body until Tahsildar Seena P P and Wadakkanchery police reached the spot.

His relatives alleged he was falsely implicated, claiming the seized meat was not wild boar but rabbit meat. They further accused forest officials of threatening and assaulting him. Police have launched an investigation.
