Thrissur: A 26-year-old woman was critically injured after being stabbed by her live-in partner in Thrissur on Tuesday. The accused, Martin Joseph, is absconding, and police have launched a manhunt.

The woman, Sharmila of Mulankunnathukavu, was attacked outside their apartment at Adat, Thrissur. She was rushed to a nearby private hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

According to police, the couple had been living together, and a dispute between them is suspected to have triggered the attack. Martin, a native of Puthurkkara in Thrissur, fled the scene immediately after and is believed to be heading towards Kozhikode, the cops added.

Martin was arrested in 2021 in connection with the Kochi Marine Drive flat sexual assault case involving a 27-year-old woman from Mattannur. At that time, he was tracked down to a flat in Mundoor after an extensive search operation.
