Meet Palakkad's Jasim, the young footballer who rose to excellence at the Subroto Cup

Thrithala: Subroto Mukherjee Cup, the most prestigious inter – school football tournament in the country saw the rise of a young talented footballer from Kerala. Thrithala Parutoori Kodumunda native Jasim Ali was the captain of the Farooq Higher Secondary School that won the tournament. The team led by Jasim Ali beat Amity CBSE Public School from Uthrakhand in the final match to raise the Subroto Cup.
The under - 17 team of Farooq Higher Secondary School won for two goals in the thrilling final match. Jasim made sure to motivate his team members in the exciting quarter and semi final matches too.
Jasim’s family has always been supportive of his football dreams. Training at the Altius Academy in Koppam at the age of ten was a stepping stone for Jasim to the professional leagues. At the club, Jasim was trained by coaches Shamnas, Sreejith and Salahudeen. He became the skipper of the district football association junior team in 2024. Jasim then got selected to the Kerala camp and played for the state.
Jasim delivered an impressive performance at the BC Roy Championship help at Chhattisgarh. VP Suneer who plays in Farooq College’s football team happened to see Jasim play at this tournament. Impressed by Jasim skills, Suneer invited Jasim to the Farooq school team.
Jasim also plays in the under – 17 team of Gokulam Kerala. Currently, he is a plus one student at the Farooq Government Higher Secondary School. Jafar Ali and Ruqiya are his parents. Shehna Sherin, Najla Nesrin and Noora Fathima are his siblings.
