Kozhikode: The decapitated body of a man was found under the Arch Model bridge in Thusharagiri, Kozhikode, with the head dangling from a rope hung above. The deceased had been identified as Benny (47), a native of Pulikkayam. He worked in a liquor store.

According to initial reports, his head was found entangled in a coir rope hanging from the bridge, while the rest of his body had fallen into the river below. The police have recovered his two-wheeler and sandals from the bridge.

The body was first spotted by visitors to the bridge. The Kodenchery Police were immediately alerted and they reached the spot. "A rope was found hooked from the bridge with the man's head entangled in it. It appears that he may have jumped from the bridge, resulting in the separation of the head and body due to the force," said a police officer from Kodenchery station.

The body has been shifted to the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination following inquest procedures. The exact cause of the death is still not determined.
