Thrissur: Two police officers were injured in an attack while probing a dispute between brothers at Manathala Baby Road in Chavakkad here on Thursday. The injured officers are Sub Inspector Sarath Soman and Civil Police Officer Arun of Chavakkad police station.

The incident occurred when the police team arrived to investigate a quarrel between Nisar, a local resident, and his brother. According to police, Nisar allegedly attacked the officers during their intervention and fled the scene soon after.

Sarath sustained a stab wound on his hand and was shifted to a private hospital in Kunnamkulam. Arun was injured after being hit with an iron rod.

Nisar is suspected to be mentally challenged, officials said.
