Kerala police nab Bengaluru man in ₹3.5 cr cyber fraud targeting TVM doctor

Thiruvananthapuram: The City Cyber Crime Police have arrested a Bengaluru native in connection with a ₹3.43-crore investment fraud that duped a doctor from Ulloor, Thiruvananthapuram.
The accused, identified as Dhanush Narayanaswamy, was apprehended from Bengaluru and later remanded by the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) court, Thiruvananthapuram.
According to police, a gang, including the accused, lured the victim with promises of high returns through online investment schemes, contacting him via WhatsApp and Telegram. The money was funnelled into multiple bank accounts linked to a fake company in Bengaluru before being converted into cryptocurrency and transferred abroad.
Narayanaswamy is believed to have managed these accounts under the pretext of running a business. From his account alone, police recovered ₹1.2 crore.
The operation was carried out by a special team led by ACP Prakash KS, under the supervision of City Police Commissioner Faaras T and as per the directions of Police Commissioner Thomson Jose. Inspector Shameer MK, Sub-Inspector Girish, and CPO Abhijith were part of the team.
