Shoranur: The Shoranur police have traced the relatives of an elderly man who had been living on the streets after losing his memory. The man was spotted in distress near Carmel School at Kallipadam by DySP Manoj Kumar while travelling in his official vehicle. Stopping to help, the officer brought him to the DySP office. When asked about his whereabouts, the man could only provide his name and hometown, giving no other details.

He was temporarily sheltered at Sneha Nilayam Orphanage in Pattambi while police launched an inquiry to trace his relatives. Detailed information, including his address, was eventually obtained, and the police contacted his son. Subash, the man’s son, was overjoyed to learn his father was safe.

The man was identified as Nanjan (57), also known as Mani. The discovery came during an investigation by Annur police in Coimbatore, who had filed a missing person complaint on his behalf. Within hours, Subash arrived in Shoranur, and the police reunited father and son, gifting Nanjan new clothes and other essentials before his return home.
