Kaviyoor: District Police Chief R. Anand and the Thiruvalla police have stepped in to support two children whose education was interrupted due to challenging family circumstances. The children—a Class 10 student and his younger sister in Class 6—were able to return to school from Vidyarambham Day onwards.

The children’s education had been severely impacted by their father’s alcohol addiction and their mother’s poor health, which resulted in them missing the first two days of the new academic year. Upon receiving information from Police Special Branch officer Sajith Raj, District Police Chief R. Anand personally intervened, ensuring that the children could return to school.

The elder sibling, a polytechnic student, has continued attending classes most days despite the ongoing difficulties at home. Acting on the District Police Chief’s directive, Thiruvalla Sub-Inspector Unnikrishnan, along with Panchayat President M. Dinesh Kumar and Ward Member T. K. Sajeev, visited the family’s home. They escorted the children to school in a pink police vehicle.

In addition, the police coordinated with the school authorities to address the children’s educational expenses and daily transportation needs. Before leaving, the police also provided essential items to support the family’s day-to-day requirements. ASI Jojo, Women CPOs K Jaya and Jasna K Jalal and Special Branch officials Sajith Lal and Sudheesh Chandran were part of the police team that visited the family.
