An act of kindness: Welder’s Association repairs hospital furniture for free

Chavakkad: The district committee of All Kinds of Welders’ Association (AKWA) repaired old and damaged equipment at the taluk hospital. The association members who couldn’t provide financial aid for the renovation of the hospital decided to repair the equipment totally free of cost. They welded in a bit of kindness and love too as they attached broken metal parts.
The members of the association welded and repaired cots, chairs and other equipment in the hospital. Meanwhile, their act of kindness has helped the hospital save equipment worth millions. The voluntary service that began at 9 am in the hospital premises lasted until evening.
Around 30 welders, including the district and regional officials of the association, participated in this impeccable act of service. The officials said that they would also expand their services to other hospitals in the district. The program was inaugurated by Dr Vinny Bhaskar of the taluk hospital.
District president Aneesh Puthenchira presided over the event. District secretary Rajesh Thichoor, Sunil Karayil, state samiti member Joji Kaimal and district treasurer Bijith spoke at the inauguration.
