Thenhipalam: Eleven anganwadi teachers came together on stage for a dance and acting performance , offering a visual interpretation of the paintings of the acclaimed artist Raja Ravi Varma. The  performance was staged at the Kondotty Additional Block Poshan Maa – 2025 programme, held in association with Chelambra Devakiyamma Memorial Pharmacy College, to mark the golden jubilee celebrations of the Women and Child Development Department (ICDS).

The teachers enacted scenes from paintings featuring Damayanthi, Radha, Shakunthala, Meera Bhai, an ascetic, a pregnant woman, Hamsa Damayanthi, a lamp, mother and child, a handmaid and a woman carrying a milk vessel. Anganwadi teachers Bindhu, Shilpa, Sheeja, Sunanda, Shiny, Beena, Sreeja, Shanthakumari, Smitha, Surekha and Sheena were applauded for their expressive performances inspired by these iconic works.

The exhibition of nutritious food offered a delightful expreince. Food items were brought from around 50 anganwadis. Food items fit for consumption by pregnant women and lactating mothers were part of the display.  The menu included puttu, uppuma, haluva, payasam and many more.

A quiz contest was conducted for pharmacy college students and an awareness programme was also organised. Chelembra Panchayat Vice President K P Devadas inaugurated the event. Welfare Standing Committee Chairperson Iqbal Paingottoor presided. District Programme Officer T N Dhanya, Ward Member C K Sujitha, College Principal G Babu, Vice Principal Dr C R Biju, CDPO G Jisha and Supervisor T Nasreena addressed the gathering.
