Idukki: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Sahan Tuti, a Maoist wanted for the Jharkhand bomb blast that killed three policemen, from Munnar. The accused, a Jharkhand native, had fled the state after the 2021 attack and was working as a migrant labourer with his wife at Goodarvilla Estate.

Officials stated that Tuti was under NIA surveillance for some time and his arrest followed a tip-off received during the ongoing investigation. He was taken into custody late last night with assistance from the Munnar Police. After a medical examination, he was placed in custody at the Munnar Police Station.

Authorities reported that Tuti arrived in Kerala around one and a half years ago and are investigating whether additional associates of the accused remain in the state. The NIA plans to transfer him to Kochi later today for further interrogation and questioning regarding the blast and his network.
