Kochi: The sixth edition of the Kochi Navy Marathon (KNM 25), organised by the Southern Naval Command as part of the Navy Day celebrations, will be held on December 21. The marathon, which features three race categories, the 21 km Half Marathon, 10 km Run and 5 km Fun Run, takes place at the KK Premachandran Sports Complex near Kendriya Vidyalaya Port Trust, Willingdon Island.

Speaking at the launch, Commodore Sudhir Reddy, Commodore Superintendent, Naval Aircraft Yard & Race Organiser, said that the Kochi Navy Marathon aims to promote physical endurance and wellness across all age groups while strengthening the bond between the Navy and the local community.

The 2025 edition is expected to draw around 7,000 participants, a significant increase from the 5,000 runners who took part last year. Participants will include students, corporate teams, defence personnel and amateur runners from Kerala, neighbouring states and other parts of the country.

To build excitement ahead of the main event, two promotional runs will be organised in November and December at prominent locations across Kochi. The organisers have also introduced a new Family Run category this year, allowing families with children below 12 years to participate together in the 5 km Fun Run.
