Kozhikode: A 43-year-old woman died after being struck by lightning in Kozhikode on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Suneera, a resident of Pullaloor, near Narikkuni. 

The incident occurred around 4 pm while she was standing in the yard of her house during a thunderstorm. The Kakkur police have registered a case of unnatural death.

Her mortal remains have been shifted to the mortuary of the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital. Kozhikode experienced heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in the evening.
