Thiruvananthapuram:  A man rammed his car into a small roadside shop after being told that payasam was unavailable, destroying the stall in Pothencode here on Saturday.

The incident occurred around 4.30 am, when the man visited the shop, which is known for serving payasam and light snacks, and asked for the dessert. According to the police, the shopkeeper informed him that the payasam had run out.

Enraged by the response, the man began verbally abusing the shopkeeper and others present at the spot. He then reportedly got into his car and drove it into the shop, an officer at the Pothencode police station said.

"The man was not identified, and he fled the scene soon after the incident," the officer said, adding that no formal complaint has been registered so far.
