Idukki: Two people, including a four-month-old infant, died when a car lost control, hit a tree and overturned on the Thodupuzha–Puliyanmala State Highway. The deceased were identified as Amina Beevi (58) and her granddaughter Michelle Mariam, residents of Vengalloor, Thodupuzha.

The vehicle, driven by KS Shamon, Michelle's father and a Civil Police Officer at Vellathooval Police Station, was returning from a visit to Vagamon. Shamon’s wife Haseena (29) and daughter Isha (4) were injured in the accident. Reports indicate the car veered off the road after striking a roadside tree and fell into a nearby plantation.

The injured were admitted to a private hospital in Thodupuzha. Doctors confirmed the deaths of Amina Beevi and the infant, while the others are reported to be stable.
