Idukki: A man collapsed and died while performing the post-funeral rites of his mother at Vannappuram here on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Lali (Shinob, 43), a native of Methotti in Velliyamattam.

The incident occurred around 11 am, while Lali was carrying out the death rituals of his mother, Indira (73). He suddenly collapsed during the ceremony. Though he was immediately rushed to the hospital, he could not be saved.

Following his death, the final rites were performed by his nephew. Lali’s funeral took place later in the evening.
